Lavendon School

Happy Children, Happy School; Achieving Excellence in Education.

What time does my child start and finish school?

Start and end times:

We will need to stagger the entry and exit times for year groups, as the expectation is that we minimise the potential for year groups to mix as much as possible. This is outlined below. You will see that there are markings on the footpath to wait, and there is a one-way system marked out, so it would be really helpful if this can be followed, please. We can only allow one parent on site with each child too. It is crucial that the children are dropped off and collected on time, not earlier or later, as there will be other children due to be collected and dismissed before and after your child, following a very tight timetable. Children need to remain close to their adult/hold hands, additional younger children carried or strapped in a pram and where it's safe for elder children to remain at home to do so. If you have siblings, they can be brought in together, and children from Y3- Y6 can enter through the green gate, and will wait in socially distanced lines on the playground.

Children in Years 5 and 6 will be able to walk to and from school alone if we have had a letter from you stating that you have given permission, but it is imperative that the children socially distance when leaving and entering the site. If this is not taking place, then we will be asking for parents to drop off and collect from the school instead. If you have a child in these year groups, please discuss with your child that this what they will be expected to do to remain safe.

Unfortunately, parents will not be able to remain on site after dropping off your children, which is outlined in the guidance, and can be found in the link below:

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/actions-for-schools-during-the-coronavirus-outbreak/guidance-for-full-opening-schools

We will be staggering the leaving times, starting with siblings, who will leave together through the green side gate in order to reduce waiting times and adults on site. Siblings will start to leave at 3pm. We have reduced the lunch hour to make up teaching time.

This also means that parents will not be allowed into the school building at this time, so if you need to speak to Wendy or Christina in the office, please email or call us. Letters and forms can be put through the letter box situated on the outside of the school building, next to the main school entrance.
